Summer Activity Ideas

Create Theme Days for your child or group to enjoy daily. 
The following Theme Days are easy to create and fun for kids of all ages


Theme Day #1: Bubble Day
- Go to your local library and borrow storybooks about bubbles
- Go to a dollar store in your area and buy a variety of different bubble making         toys, bubble liquid and shallow containers to pour the bubble liquid into.
- Have a bubble blowing contest




Theme Day #2: Water Fun Day
- Set up your yard with a variety of different water games ( water balloon toss,         water sprinklers, small swimming pool ect...)
- Set up a small pool and allow your children play with their waterproof toys in it.       



Theme Day #3: Watermelon Fruit Day
- Go to your local library and borrow books about watermelons and other fruits.
- Provide your kids with crayons and paper and have them draw and color               pictures of their favorite fruits.  Display the pictures on a wall.
- Buy a large watermelon and a variety of other fruits
- Cut up the watermelon and fruits then have your children put together their own     fruit salad. Enjoy!



Theme Day #4: Movie Making Day
- Help your children think up a theme and characters for a movie that they              would like to star in.
- Put on simple costumes made out of clothes that you already have (scarves,       bed sheet capes, big shoes ect...)
- Tape the movie on a video camera
- Kids get a kick out of watching themselves on camera
  (Don't forget the popcorn!)



Other Great Themes: Pizza Day, Butterfly Day, Bug Day, Community Day...

Think of other things that your child or group enjoys
and make a day out of it!
